I originally bought this in a package of six months from the date of this review with my Canon XSI with the lens EF-S 18-55mm kit. I must say that this is a great goal and I used it very often (perhaps more than my kit lens). As one of the best lenses in Canon telephoto lens lineup, not too much you can expect from the lens, but should provide a lot of things.
Regarding image quality, while it can be improved, we still want great pictures. I use it for recordingPictures of outdoor sports and has come with some great pictures. With the internal lens can be a challenge. Because it is a slow slow, I always carry around when you have to slow down the shutter speed to get properly exposed pictures of your tripod. Before buying the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, I tried with this lens for portraits, and was very impressed with the results. Although it might not be as sharp detail as some other targets, you can go some great pictures.
How to build quality, is lightweight and plastic. The front element does not rotate during focusing. The engine does not autofocus IS USM, and is neither fast nor quiet, but it works well and seems very accurate.
Sometimes, our limited budget, buy what we can and what we can. In my case, I bought this lens because it fit my budget and that the acquisition will not regret it. Although this goal may not have the incredible image quality and build other objectives,Remember that your photographic vision and unity, the images will be created. Even a great photographer with a camera toys, you can create a great image. Do not let others, this goal is not to discourage money worth mentioning.
